The shallow faced design has a railed sole to help minimize the sole's contact with the ground in order to prevent the club from digging in and reducing speed, distance and feel upon impact. Its deep back weighting helps lower the center of gravity for better launch and spin characteristics. Its face variable thickness is created for improved feel and sound at impact as a slightly more active face for increased performance over a traditional all-stainless steel fairway wood.
Questions on Acer XDS React Fairway Wood - Clubhead

- I see the machete club is no longer available. Will there be another club similar coming in the future (ie. 5w loft, shorter in length with a heavier head)?
We have done well with specialty clubs such as the Machete (Acer Thrivers and Power Play Caiman Raw Power 3W are a few others), so it is possible we will revisit a Machete once again. However, it will not be in the immediate future.
