This retractable shaft adjusts in lengths between 38 and 52” perfect for belly and long putters. Shaft comes with a coupling devise that can be loosened and tighten with the wrench provided. Once epoxied to a putter head, simply loosen the coupling by twisting, slide the shaft up and down until the length is comfortable to the player, tighten the shaft and then you are ready to play. For professional club fitters, the Apollo Adjustable Belly & Long Putter shaft can make for an excellent fitting tool. For golfers that play a long putter and like to travel, the shaft can be collapsed and store safely in the bag.
Questions on Apollo Adjustable 38-52" Putter Shaft

- The video says this shaft is not legal to play with. Is this shaft legal for USGA play? The Ping adjustable shafts are legal so wouldn't this be legal too? They do the same thing but the tightening device is in a slightly different location. I can't see how this is any different from any other putter or club that is adjustable - as long as it isn't changed during the round it should be okay - right? Thanks.
The difference between the Ping and the Apollo shafts has to do with how they are fastened. The Ping has a "go, no go" situation where it is either fastened or it is not when the tool part is fastened back into their coupling. The Apollo shaft relies on a friction force by how tight the player tightens the wrench. In the USGA's eyes, the Apollo shaft could be played when not fully tightened and could be easily adjusted. Therefore the Apollo shaft does not conform to the Rules of Golf and scored cannot be accepted for handicapped purposes.
