UST Recoil golf shafts technology allows the golfer to load and unload better on partial and full shots for improved distance and trajectory control. The UST Recoil golf shaft also increases the spring effect in the walls of the shaft for efficient energy transferred to the ball for increased velocity and greater distance. The unique composite construction creates a higher damping rate equating to better feel and less stress on joints in the hands, wrists and elbows.

    • I am a 69 year old male....head speed 80-85,5-iron 145-155 yards...looking for a good iron the UST Recoil ang good shaft for me or could you reccomend a better shaft?????...Thanks
    • Larry,

The Recoil's are premium graphite iron shafts. If you are looking at the Recoil 660 shaft, I might advise the A-flex based on your 5-iron distance, unless you have a shorter, more compact swing in which you have fared better with R-flex in the recent past. With so limited information about your swing and what you are presently using and the problems you are having, it would not be fair for me to recommend a shaft.

  • From Lou L. at 6/13/14 6:45 PM
    • I am a senior age 66. Normally hit my 8 iron 148 yards, 5 yards less at sea level, 7 at 157 and my 6 about 165 with my usual swing. Currently have a A rated shaft on my Adams Redline at 57 grams. What would be the effect of the 71 gram R shaft on my clubs?
    • Lou,

You might be senior by age, but shaft fitting is all about strength and tempo. Your distances suggest R-flex, coupled with the heavier shaft should give you more control - at least on paper. Without seeing your swing or knowing more about your shot pattern, it is impossible to say.
