- What does the torque number mean. Do lower numbers mean less torque?
The torque value is the amount of twist when the butt end of the shaft is clamped and a one foot-pound or force is applied to the tip. The lower the value the less twisting there is. But don't misinterpret that as low torque doesn't necessarily mean it is better.
