    • I have a set of Mizuno MP 53 irons with True Temper DynaLite Gold XP S300 stiff shafts. I am happy with the ball flight however sometimes struggle with the longer irons. I bought some Mizuno MP H5s in a 4i and 5i with Project X 6.0 shafts. The ball flight is much lower and the ball does not come off the face as nice as the MP 53 with the DynaLite XP S300. The H5 design is supposed to launch higher and with the thin maraging steel should be hotter off the face but, it is not doing what it is advertised to do. The lofts of the MP 53 and H5s are the same. So it must be a shaft issue. I forgot what my iron swing speed is but I hit my 8i in the MP53 about 150 yards, 7i -160 yards, etc. I am 57 years old and about 5' 7" so I don't want a heavy shaft. I would like to re-shaft the H5s with DynaLites but they are no longer available. The DynaLIte is rated as a 117 gm high launch shaft. The Xp 105 is rated high launch but the XP 115 is rated as mid launch. So, the question is, what shaft should I go with, the XP 105 S300 or XP 115 S300 for the 4 and 5 iron? I'm trying not to feel like I have to really go after the ball to get the distance.
    • Bud,

If you liked the old Dynalite Golf XP irons, you should like the XP 115. The XP 115 is the same weight, has the same bend profile and is slightly more flexible which should aid in ball flight.
