Acer Mantara XL Titanium Driver - Custom Assembled:Featuring the same radical square design as the original Mantara, the XL version is broader from front-to-back (8mm), but slightly shallower (4mm) to retain the 460cc limit. This moves the center of gravity not only further back, but lower as well. This helps to maximize the moment of inertia, resulting in less twisting on off-center shots, making it quite possibly our most forgiving driver to date! The easy to align aerodynamic profile is constructed from a 6-4 titanium face and a thin, lightweight titanium crown, skirt and soleplate. See first hand how you can find more fairways off of the tee as a way of lowering your score.

The is the perfect complement to the ultimate driver! Conforms with USGA Rules.

Base price assembled with Hireko Shadow Graphite Shaft by Apllo and Karma Black Velvet grip.

This is the best club that I have purchased. I use to average 230 off the tee and had a moderate slice, now I average 245 and straight, even on the off center hits I'm still over 200 yards and it stays in play.

used for a year and 1/2 with good results, easy to hit, great sweet spot...my playing partners call it "THE SHOVEL", broke it, sent it back to Hireko and it was replaced(no charge)in a week...liked this club enough that I purchased the #3 and #5 fairway woods to replace my older King Cobras.

The club came in just as expected. Nicely put together with a V2 shaft 1.5 over standard. I selected the 10.5 degree.

I hit about 23 drives all coming in ~305, on average. Unfortunately, nike5900 blew it away with three swings at ~335 range. Granted 10.5 compared to a 9.5 (nike5900) isn't comparing apples to apples, but I wish they offered lower degrees for this head.

This is a very good club, even though it looks like it came with at Happy Meal. It's got a nice feel to it and a large sweet spot. The distance too is impressive. I had a Cobra L-Speed in my bag before, but now it's been replaced by this one. It's fun to hit and it definitely creates a buzz when your co-golfers hear the sound off the tee. A club to recommend.

I started improving my swing plane last season, but still hit more slices than I should. This driver along with the still improving swing has produced some mighty long drives. With my old Big Bertha I would hit it on occasion around 260yds. This was with an always present fade or banana slice. With the Mantara I'm hitting it closer to 300yds when I really connect. I'd say my average is now in the 270-280 range.

I do have to say that the sound this driver makes is quite loud, but not in a bad way. It seems to be louder on the slight miss hits than the clean strikes. Your group will oooo and ahhh from the sound of the miss hits and have their jaws drop when you hit it on the sweet spot. ;)

For the price, you just cannot beat this club. Once my wife allows it, I will be looking at fairway and hybrids!

Used to hit 220-230 off tee,now it's 240-250 with an occasional hit as long as 280. My pronounced fade(slice) is pretty much gone. This club's length gives me a fighting chance to at least play bogey ball or better. Thanks Hireko.

Received my order yesterday. Went out to play this morning.
First of all I was impressed by the looks of the driver as well as the shaft.
Went to the golfcourse at 7.45 am. Our first hole (par 5) is near the clubhouse and I had two spectators.
I hit it and it went and went and went. Awesome! I never hit a drive any further then my first drive with the Acer Mantara XL 12d and Aldila DVS stiff! Well over 40 meters past the fairway bunkers. And dead straight!
The second hole, away from the clubhouse, I lined up three balls and hit them. The same thing happened. Well past the fairway bunkers, three balls nicely spread within 10 meters or so. Incredible!
This is absolutely the best club I've ever had in my bag.
This afternoon I went with my wife to the driving range. I only hit one ball, to let her see, and this one went over the fence! 240m+.
If someone would have told me that there was this much difference with my current Callaway Big Bertha Driver, I would not have believed it. But the difference is really phenomenal! The ease, the straightness, the sound!
My wife is also very enthousiastic, I think we order one for her as well this coming week. I'm sure it will help her as much as it helps me

I bought this club before Christmas. Living in the Midwest, I didn't get a chance to hit it until last Sunday. I was really impressed. I didn't expect a driver of this quality. I have hit the Sumo2 a few times and the XL Mantara has nothing to be shy about in comparison. The noise is deafening and very peculiar, much like the Sumo2. There was a lot of wind on Sunday, but the feel was awesome, and the length impressive for me. I couldn't see my balls land. I also have a tendency to slice and I had the impression that I was straighter with the Mantara. Again, there was a lot of wind so don't take my word for it. This club is a great value for the quality.

My 1st time out in October I used the Mantra XL 10.5 deg only on the long par 4's & par 5's, not any more. After a slight adjustment to the shaft, I ordered a standard regular shaft, I cut off 1 inch and immediately realized a much more controlable driver with very good yardage. 240 to 280 yards is very common and no more pushing it right but just straight down the middle and more control. I'm still playing this winter but I can't wait for the spring.

I'm a senior citizen who has enjoyed playing the game of golf for many years, most recently purchased the mantara XL driver. It looks different, it sounds different but does it do the job, I have gained 30plus yards on my drives and have found the center of the fairway better than 95% of the time. My playing partners have nicknamed the mantara XL the "BUS" and the 5 wood the "MINI BUS". I am really pleased with these clubs.....

This driver seems to be a copy of the Nike SUMO, be it that it is less than half the price. And it offers the same quality, from what I've experienced. I must say that I only tried the SUMO in the shop, but the Acer is utterly forgiving, still producing reasonable shots if the ball comes off the heel of the clubface. That's its greatest quality.

Do, however, warn your competitors that it is going to make an extraordinary (loud) sound, due to its high titanium percentage (100%?).

I don't have any commercial interests in Acer or Hireko (yet). It's just an awesome driver, especially for those with ball contact problems.

First thing I noticed after receiving the driver [...] was the huge head. This is the first 460cc driver I've used. The second thing that I noticed was the Lie of the club at address. I ordered the shaft 1" over standard length. I'm 6' tall which the charts state is a height for a standard length shaft. This isn't a horrible negative though. The toe is just slightly off the ground at address when the heel is on the ground. In fact, this angle might just contribute to a slight draw which might be a great advantage to me because of the fade I've had since I started playing. It's unreal not seeing that curve off to the right!I ordered the club with +1" over length in an Acer X-Class Orange shaft with Jumbo Winn grip. The club just feels GOOD.When I hit my first shot off the tee, I was shocked at the sound. This puppy is LOUD! After getting over the sound, I noticed that my drive was straight with higher trajectory than I am used to (previous club had 9-degree loft and this one has 10.5-degree). These characteristics maintained throughout the 9-hole round with 5 driving holes. I was in the fairway with all 5 shots...something unheard of for me because I tend to push with a slight fade. The fade was gone and I pretty much hit the ball wherever I was lined up. That in itself makes this club a very welcomed upgrade! As for distance...I couldn't tell a lot about that because of the wind. I was playing in 15 to 25 mph southerly winds. Truthfully, I care very little about distance (within reason) as long as I'm in the fairway, and while 5 holes of driving doesn't set a very statistically large universe, the indication is encouraging. Bottom line is that I am very pleased with the club and look forward to my next round!

I find this driver to be very forgiving as I've tried on the range to produce mis-hits. There is only a small loss of distance and even less loss of direction. Overall it is about 10% longer than my previous driver. The distinct sound is similar to the latest expensive Cobra driver.
