I bought the four iron and approach wedge. Didn't have either one in my bag. I'm still getting use to my approach wedge and the different ways to use it. My four iron is great!! I use it on most of my second shots instead of my hybrid. It is my go to club. I have found it to be lighter than my Tommy Armour clubs. I will buy the rest of the XK clubs.

I wrote the previous review and did buy the full set of irons. I am just amazed these clubs are not more prominent. I play steel shafts, never got used to graphite irons. These are great clubs for the money.

I bought a 7 iron. Used to own some Acer's which were great but after several years for some reason decided to get X-18's. The X-18's never seemed to fit my swing like the Acers. Highly recommend you do the static fitting for shaft length etc. Today I hit the XK 7 against my X-18 7. This club was much more solid and accurate. So, now I guess I have to get the rest of the clubs.

I saw them on "Golf Digest" best buy list and thought I would give them a try. All I can say is WOW, I'm so glad I brought these Acer XK Irons with the Apollo 85 shaft. Its a wonderful combination! I've easy added at least 5 yards and I am growing in confidence with them. They are so easy to use. Very forgiving and very accurate!At first I was looking into buying a used set of C@!!@w@y's and my friend was telling me he would go that route then buy these Acer's. After reading everyone's review I decided to take the plunge and risk it all with these.For once I made a good choice and dont regret my decision at all. I wouldn't trade them for any other club right now, I love them that much.I got a Karma grips, which are great, soft and look awesome. my wedges have golf pride. The Karma feel better but the golf pride are more tacky and dont slip and may last longer. i'm not saying the Karma slip (yet) but I think they will wear out faster then the Golf Pride and they dont feel as tacky as the golf prideThese are just as good as the more expensive models.Please, if you are buying irons then try these, they wont let you down, but try it for yourself. Order one and I bet the bank you will be coming back for more. These are great!

Great clubs. Bought as replacement for 20+ yr. old Spalding Executives. Saw the Golf Digest rating, took the plunge and bought a full set.Nice clubs, some forgiveness but not oversized. Solid feel. Built w/ graphite shafts, these probably give an additional 10+ yards over my old steel irons.Would recommend. Comes w/ neoprene club covers, a nice touch, although they are somewhat cheap and probably will not last long. [...]

Have to give these strong overall review. Found online as a replacement for old Spalding Executives. Read about the Acers and Golf Digest 'best buy'. Given the price, went all in and bought full set w/ graphite shafts.

Can't complain. They are somewhat forgiving but not embarassingly oversized. When struck right, they do probably add 10+yds over an old-school cavity back club.

Only caveat: I added the two-tone Karma grips. Probably should have gone GolfPride. The Karma's look nice but seem to get a bit slippery in wet conditions or sweat.

OVERALL: would recommend, especially at the price point!!

This iron was dead-on accurate for me from about 200 yards out on fairway lie !!! No vibration at all, crisp, clean hit !!!

I got these irons to replace some 10 year old Cleveland VAS+ irons I've had since they were new. I lost the 7 iron and just couldn't get a matching replacement for it. It was time to get better fitting clubs anyway. These are very nice. I had them built with Apollo ballistick steel shafts and tacki-mac itomic grips. Used stiff shafts .5" longer than standard. I think the length helped. The heads are at least as good as my old clevelands and the added benefit of being properly sized has helped make them better. [...] customer service is awesome. I am impressed with Hireko and will definitely buy and recommend them to everyone I talk to.

Replaced my 20 year old Spalding executives with these because I needed longer clubs but didnt want to spend $600 on irons. I am very happy with these clubs, they have a huge sweet spot, and are sharp looking clubs. I only wanted a 6 through pw so the fact that you can buy the clubs individually was a bonus. I hit them much better than my old clubs.

These clubs are like night and day from my old set. I golf about once a week and after playing a few rounds with these clubs I shot my lowest round yet. I have shaved 6-10 strokes and counting off my game. Now when I hit a bad shot I know when its my fault and not the result of poor equipment. Great clubs!

I first came across these clubs while searching for more expensive name brand irons. I saw these and the price grabbed my attention. I did some research and found that these irons were in GD's hot list. I decided that I couldn't do much better on price considering the fact that I am a casual golfer.

These clubs are very sharp looking. I had some guys come and ask me what brand of club I was using. They were shocked to hear me say Acer. I had some graphite shafts put on and these clubs are light. Very easy to swing. I made good contact most of the time and my swing felt effortless. I even used my 3 iron quite a bit. I don't like the long irons because I think they are harder to hit. Not these though. I was killing the ball. My three iron is my new favorite club!

Hit the range before you use these. The offset head was different for me as I have not used clubs like this before. Going to the range helped me iron out some kinks. I was also able to get a good handle on my distances. I easily hit the ball at least 10 yards longer with these.

Great clubs at a great price! These are very hard to beat.

I put them on some true temper dynamic gold shafts I had on hand and decided to go with the Karma black velvet grip. These irons are very accurate and forgiving. My previous set of irons were forged muscle backs with apollo hump shafts, which is a very nice shaft by the way, and if the TT dynamic golds dont work out then I will get more humps for these heads.
Feel:
hit sweet, they feel almost like my forged irons, and hits off-center feel better and much less harsh than my old forged muscle backs

Distance:
seem to be about the same as my old irons, but havent had enough time on the range with the whole set to make a good comparison
(also I have to take in account that it is difficult to make a side by side comparison with my old irons since I'm using a different shaft as well)

Forgiveness/Accuracy:
These irons are money. They go straight as an arrow. The grooves appear to be well designed and take a pretty good bite on the ball

Summary:
The Acer XK irons are very forgiving and hit the ball straighter than any iron I have ever hit. They have a great feel to them. I am now a big fan of 431 steel. The feel is plenty soft enough. If you pay more for a set of irons than the cost of a set of the XK's, then you are paying too much. I play with guys who all feel the need to only play the big name brands and my component set outperforms their stuff consistently.
This is a great club head that inspires confidence.

I purchased the 5-PW with Karakal Red Power V grips and True Temper TT Lite senior shafts. The clubs feel good and seem to be well balanced. I played 18 holes this weekend and they are very forgiving. These clubs are definitely right for me. I concur with Golf Digest's review and recommendation. Thanks HIREKO!

I ordered a 6 iron to try them out before buying a new set, but now I am hooked and plan on buying the whole set. When I got it I immediatelly went to the driving range and hit 5 balls I found laying around just to try it out. I hit 2 great and the ball flew compared to my old blade backs. I also hit 2 off center, but with no vibration. THIS IS A GREAT CLUB!!!!!

This club moves through the ball very smoothly, used on the course the first time out and there wasn't any problems adjusting to the clubs. I put the Apollo Acculite 85 Steel shafts in them hoping I could feel the weight of the clubhead a little more and they are a great combination. Adding distance to my irons wasn't what I was looking for but I got it anyway...nice.

Bought a 7 iron to test em out, see if i liked them. I upgraded to winn avs grips and a aldila graphite shaft.

I was havin trouble hittin my steel shaft cleveland irons before/ My pro said my body was struggling to get my irons into position.

These Acer XK feel fantastic. I have been hittin it straight and in the air. They arent lying about how easy they are to hit. Extremely forgiving, and they always get in the air.

These irons are truly great. No, they are not the best on the market but they can certainly compete with the best and for the price point I truly believe they cannot be beaten. Some reviews on this site may lead you to believe that Hireko has shills posting fake reviews. Well, believe the hype, the irons are very accurate, the construction is excellent just like all Acer products, and on top of that, I have not noticed much difference in distance. The feel is smooth but not the greatest, though I don't expect them to be. All in all these irons get a solid score from value standpoint alone, they are great as backups, or a travel set but if you need to play them as your primary set, feel free because they won't let you down.

I bought the 8 as a replacement for a "bad day casualty" (don't ask). Solid feel and very nice natural draw. Distance is solid as well. Great alternative to insane OEM prices. Maltby are the only components I'd put ahead of Hireko (they have similar prices and their club-building is a step up)

Just got my new XK Irons and have only been to the range once and played one round with them. I got the basic package with mid-size grips as my only upgrade. The shafts are 1/2" over size long to aid my 6'6" frame. They feel good, hit it as long as my Wilson Di5 irons and I scored well. They have moved into my golf bag.

I am an 18 handicap trying to get to the mid-to-low 80s this year. I bought these irons due to the high offset to correct a slight push and also draw it easier. I have since corrected both. I put my own shaft and grip on it, and the club feels very smooth on contact. I got mine before I noticed they were in Golf Digest, but they are definitely deserving.
