I normally don't write any reviews, but I have used these clubs for a few weeks now and I really love them. They provide much better results from the rough and they are DEADLY ACCURATE. I am not sure if I am hitting them further - maybe 5 yards - but they go right where I am aiming! They have moderate offset, which is what I wanted and are forgiving. They look great and have a thin topline - all the improvement is hidden. I used TT Dynalite Gold SL shafts, so I have a nice high trajectory and I can stick the green. Highly recommended!!

I shot a 37 (3 over par)yesterday. That's my lowest score ever with 1 birdie, 4 pars, and 4 bogeys. I used my 3 wood off the tee on a course with tree lined fairways that got me into trouble last time when I used a driver. I didn't hit a fat shot all night using my XDS React clubs. A 7 iron from 155 yards held the green and ended up about 12 feet from the cup. Another hole was a tap in birdie after an 85 yard AW to within 18 inches. Great height and distance using Nike Power Distance Soft balls. They feel great coming off the XDS' face. Hit my 9 iron 140 yards...actually TOO good as the pin was only 130.

Bought the 7 thru PW with Apollo Acculite 95 shaft and Winn Lite grips. I have been playing Adams A3os for past couple years but noticed a distance loss on irons. Decided to replace with the XDS and what an excellent move that was...I have added 5-10 yards per club and the accuracy is second to none (pin seeking all round). Easy to hit with great feel...Highly Recommend these Sweet irons!

Wisconsin weather is finally turning around and feeling like spring. It's been a bit wet and cold so I haven't played a round yet. I have gotten to the outdoor driving range using the mats, as the grass areas aren't quite ready for use. I still have my bad swing habits, but the clubs are a bit more forgiving than my old set and aren't punishing when I do mishit them.

Today I was able to take my high lofted clubs to a local course and use the practice area. It's limited to about 130 yards so I could only use my short irons. These clubs definitely cut through the turf better than my old Spalding Execs. I think it has to do with the slightly rounded sole compared to the relatively straight edge on my Spaldings. When I swung with a smooth tempo, I was getting straight, high shots that should hold the greens quite nicely. I play my first round in two days, and I'm looking forward to working out my distances. These have approx 4 degrees less loft than my old ones, and I seem to get an extra 5 to 10 yards when hit properly.

Sorry, I have a slight correction to my other review. I said there as a GW in addition to the AW in the XDS line-up, but there isn't.

It's true that my old clubs are higher lofts and that the newer clubs average about 3 to 5 degrees less loft. The XDS' PW loft is about 5 degrees less than my old one, while the SW is about the same as my old one. The XDS AW fills the gap nicely at 50 degrees, so I don't have to buy some mismatched iron to fill the gap between the PW and SW.

I purchased a custom made XDS #8 iron to test the club configuration I was most likely to purchase. I ordered the lighter weight Apollo Phantom shaft ($5.70 upgrade) and a midsize Lamkin Crossline grip ($2.30 upgrade). What I like about this model is the completeness of the set. My old clubs have higher lofts (3i is 23 degrees & PW is 50 degrees), so having an AW and GW between the PW and SW was important.I've only been able to test the club at an inside golf dome, so I haven't been able to test distance or how well it performs off real turf. However, the light shaft allows me to feel where the club head is during my swing. I think it helps me get the club head squarer at impact. That's been my problem with my old 80's vintage Spalding Executive clubs. I get the distance (most of the time), but I kept pushing the ball right and getting into trouble. I think it's also helping my swing with the old clubs, because I'm hitting those better too during practice.I just ordered 3 more clubs in the same configuration--a 5, 7, and PW. [...] I wanted to test out a less lofted club like the 5 and the 7 which has been my "go to club". The only thing I'm concerned about is face wear. I've hit a couple buckets of balls with all my clubs, and the 8 iron's grey face material is wearing off quickly. In comparison, my old Spalding Execs look impressive for their age.
