this club head with a acer shaft hits very
long and just because its a 12 degree does
not mean it hits too high if that toubles
you. The sound is a little loud but i like
it.also the face is not so closed that it
goes left when you go it!

head is beautiful, very effective but like all 460 driver head it will not teach players where the sweet spot is. learn small before you try a large head you will thank me for this advise...

I've built three of these, mine & two friends, and we all see better results with them. Sorry to see it's being discontinued.

Bought it on clearance. Club head fell apart after short usage time. Hireko says no warranty on clearance items.

One of the things in chosing a component for yourself or a customer is what are you trying to achieve with this club. Bought the 12 degree because of the 1 degree open . I am a small clubmaker measured the loft and lie and specs are pretty close except this is slightly closed or square not 1 degree open. Don't like sending merchandise back ...Not sure how to rate this, but to the one customer who said it didn't achieve a higher ball flight. try keeping your weight more on the right side. This driver will hit it plenty high .

I bought the Acer XP905 driver head at a 12 degree loft because as I get older and am losing some distance, I wanted higher trajectory and more carry on drives to get back a little distance. I even built the driver with a regular flex graphite shaft with a low kick point that gives a high ball flight profile. Despite this, though, I'm disappointed that I consistently get a low trajectory, even when I tee the ball completely above the driver face. The driver head design (weight distribution, MOI, etc.) must be such that even with 12 degree loft, ball flight is very low. This really defeats the purpose of why I bought the driver head. I have 10 degree loft drivers that give a higher trajectory than this one. If there are others who are considering this driver head for higher trajectory like I did, you may want to think twice.

If your looking for a driver head with feel and forgivness at 12 degrees of loft and one degree open this head is a no-brainer.
I find the added loft is helpful as my swing speed is decreasing with age.
I like the slightly open face as it lines up nicely and helps me draw the ball off the driver without hooking.

Iam using the 12 degree version with A Dynacraft Super Collider "A" flex shaft at 45 3/4" length. It has great feel of the face and the ball goes a long way. You are still able to work the ball.

I have been playing this driver for about 6 mos and been extremely pleased with it. I built this 10.5 degree driver to 45" with a UST V2 stiff shaft that was PURED because my Launch Monitor/Spin Rate analysis came out with a spin rate too low (no kidding). I have always played a 9 or 9.5 degree driver. My normal ball flight is a nice draw or hook when i swing hard so i wanted a club i could fade. I can both draw and fade this club. In general, it is fairly straight, handy for playing tree lined courses with slopes greater than 130.

I have been playing this driver for two years and it's been a great experience. I have been very consistent and I get great distance. It has a clear fade tendency, at least with a little longer shaft (45 3/4"), so I have added a little lead tape to the heal to help it close. The added swing weight also improves the feel. After nine months or so, the titanium actually cracked, but Hireko was very good at sending a new head. A very good experience. Overall great club!

I purchased this head due to the 1* open face angle. Typical ball flight is right to left (rt. handed)-a nice draw. The open face angle has definitely helped in taming the draw a bit and I now play a nice baby fade. I have more confidence in going all out with my driver swing and not having to worry about hooking it off the map.
Overall this is a good driver. Center face contacts have resulted in as long or longer drives than other combinations used. Slight mishits are not punished a lot in terms of distance, however feel on mishits is not the best.

I purchased this club to move to the 460cc realm of drivers. I built it up with a UST V2 shaft. I compared it with several other clubs, including Taylor Made Super Quad, Ping G5, Mizuno, etc. Unlike all the others, I could not fight the tendency of this club to fade. The BEST I could accomplish was a straight flight, but no way I could work anything with a draw. Also, the feel is very 'dead' feeling. I like a lively feel. Not rattling with vibrations in your hands, but this was very 'club' like. The sound mirrored the feel as described.I settled with the G5 and love it.[...] Overall a very disappointing experience.

I'm as long and straight with this driver as with any brand name one. I would highly recommend it to an advanced player. On the con side, the finish isn't quite "brand name" quality. It's a bit loud. On the other hand, my playing partners don't usually complain about that when they see where the ball lands...
