Over the last few years I have used Ping G5, G10, and the Taylormade Tour Burner as my drivers. I have had good success with all of them. Recently, I was going through my garage and found the Avatar Launch Series Driver head. I decided to pop a shaft in it just for the heck of it. I put in a Graffaloy Prolaunch Blue 65 R shaft. My swing speed with the driver averages 91. Let me tell you..without exaggeration I was 15-20 yards longer than my current driver the TM Tour Burner. The clubface seems very "alive". I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve their driving.

I'm an advanced clubmaker with some clubfitting training. This head is just plain superb. There really is something to the cup face concept. It's not just marketing mumbo jumbo. Mis-hits do a lot better with this head. The sound is quiet, and the feel on center hits is wonderful. For me personally it's a long hitting head.
If you hook your driver, this is not for you. If you fight a mild slice, this head is good. If you fight a big slice, get the offset version.
Looks and quality are excellent. For the money, this head is incredible.

Over the past year I've had OEM drivers from MacGregor, Callaway, Taylor Made and Cleveland in my bag. The Avatar is the equal of any of them in accuracy and distance, and surpasses them in feel. Put a good shaft in it, and go play golf. You won't regret it.

I was looking for a succesor to my long used FF Dynafire and got this advice. I do not regret it. I play the 10, my wife the 12 and my daughter the 14,5.
Although it's costing me some distance compared to my other "main" driver (Bang Mellow Yellow) I find the fairway more often than with the MY. It's much more secure, which is a key factor for my game. The MY has cost me several penalty strokes for finding the woods etc. The Avatar is going to stay in the bag for some time to come.

I built this driver with the 14.5 degree head with a Grafalloy Blue shaft. I cut it to the length of a three wood. The sound is sweet..Not tinny like some titanium heads.
As far as distance, on a recent outing I was out driving the name brands..Cleveland..Taylormade. Great product..I am thinking of building a 10 degree with a regular length driver shaft..

I was looking for a new 460cc head to put on an ACD shaft I had laying around the shop, thinking I'd sell it. I have a DFS II on a Prolaunch 65 Shaft that I absolutely loved. I took the new set-up to the range and not expecting too much, I hit 8 drives perfectly straight down the range. Unbelieveable. I couldn't duplicate that with the DFSII. Needless to say, I've got a new driver in the bag and a used driver for sale. This Avatar driver when matched with the right shaft is so easy to hit. I can hit straight drives with my eyes closed.
