I bought the 3-sw heads and powerflex graphite shafts as a Christmas gift for my cousin. The price was outstanding and the combination has shown stellar results. Aesthetically speaking, the clubs look BEAUTIFUL! He chose a black/blue Winn grip that complements the blue grahics on the shafts and heads wonerfully. We even found ferrules with a touch of blue on them. The clubs set up nicely and the thicker heads on the longer irons inspire confidence. We took them out for the first time on a 4 day trip to Myrtle Beach & Pinehurst last week (02/20/08) and he hit the hell out of them. The combination gave him the additional height he'd been missing, and he picked up about 1/2 club length in distance...

I built the entire set 4-lob with apollo stepless steel shafts and golf pride tour wrap grips. The weight of these heads was very close to the specs...only had to add a little weight to 2 heads. Played them for about 1 1/2 years and they still looked great!!!! Really nice quality and they play great from any lie...very forgiving and very long. Wasn't crazy about the wedges...no feel. You cannot go wrong with these.

Comments about Hireko I1230:Acer XDS Wide Sole Iron - Clubhead:
I have looked at these iron heads for a long time, having been through many sets of Callaways. I carry the Five through Nine Irons and could not be happier. They are more forgiving than my Callaways and have excellent feel. They get the ball airborne very easily indeed on full shots. They are especially forgiving towards mishits off the toe.
Although they do not look as if they would be effective from the rough they are. In fact a good guide with these clubs would be (unless the ball is in a very dicey spot) would be to pull the same club you would from the fairway and just hit the ball harder. These are not irons designed to be finessed as a rule. They respond best when they are hit and hit hard.
I also carry the PW,GW,AW and LW. They are just as forgiving, but I am not sure the wide sole concept works quite as well for these. I have found these a little harder to dial in and may in the future look to replace these clubs. If Hireko made one of their Acer non-offset Irons in 46-47/50-51/54-55/59-60 combinations I would be adding those.
I built these with Apollo Shadow A Flex Steel shafts and Whisper Grips. They have a nice muted feel.
