I bought this because I watched my 5 wood snap and the head sail into a lake. I used a gamer that was on sale. Right out of the gate it is longer than my Warrior custom and higher. Will build the driver and 3 wood. Very easy to hit and for someone who plays only once or twice a week.

I was convinced not to hit another fairway wood again so, I invested in a set of Taylormade Hybrids #2, #3 and #4. Plus the fact, I cannot hit a #3 or #4 long iron from 200 yds out. Happily, I been playing with these hybrids for over 2 years but couldn't make that #2 be consistent enough. I took a chance with this Avatar 5 wood with a UST Proforce V2 shaft; being happily converted to Dynacraft tour blades about a month ago. On the first Par 5, I decided to hit the 5-wood, banged it to within 10 yards of the green. The other golfers were amazed that I've never gotten this close on a second shot. So, I used it again on the next par-5 and a short par-4 with same results. I had hit the shots I wanted to with this club. Now, I'm building the same club for my friend and I ordered the 3-wood to see where that takes my game. The looks of the clubhead at setup and/or address is so pleasing to the eyes. It's a very easy club to hit from the fairway. Normal 5-woods are 18 deg. but the 1 deg difference (19 deg) gives an additional confident from the fairway.

I tried this head because I was looking for a largerfairway wood for tee shots and long shots fromthe fairway. This head looks great at address and performs well on both counts. It is easy to get a nice high launch angle off the deck and off the tee. Distance is average. At [$], it's a great value.

I built 3 fairway woods from Hireko and two other component vendors. All were attractive, got the ball up well but the Hireko Avatar HMOI worked the best and fit my eye the best. I haven't played fairway woods for awhile and am quite dependent on my hybrids. But I wanted just a little more distance without losing accuracy. This club worked great. Hit it well from the first shot on the practice range.The others were OK, but this one was near perfect.
