Acer XK Fairway Woods - Clubhead:Finally, an innovative stainless steel fairway series that allows total game management by offering lofts to suit a player’s individual needs! There are three important technological features that make these higher performance clubs. First, we incorporated our variable face thickness to reduce the perimeter area of the impact area so the entire club face could be more active. This acts to increase the area of forgiveness over a larger portion of the face. Secondly, the crowns were constructed with exclusive VCT (variable crown technology) and measure as little as 0.5mm thick. All the unwanted weight normally reserved for the crown was repositioned deep within the head. Lastly, the wide profile increases the Moment of Inertia. All these features provide for a high launching ball flight with incredible accuracy. Versatility is another word to describe the Acer XK fairways. Multiple lofts are offered including those not commonly found from a strong 3-wood for players who have no problem getting the ball airborne to a high-lofted 9-wood. One addition is a 4-wood for those players wanting just one fairway wood in their bag. This allows you to add an extra wedge or hybrid to your set and stay within the 14 club minimum. Also, our 4-wood is an outstanding solo fairway wood for ladies or seniors looking for the perfect partner to a high-lofted driver.

Last week I combined the XF 4 wood with an aldila nv shaft (reg-75) not expecting too much. This morning somehow I forgot my driver at home so I was left with the 4 wood to play. It surprised everyone in our foursome! It outhit 2 other drivers and held it own against my 23yr old and his taylormade driver. Of course not as long but even he remarked at how far my shots were going. I don't hit 250 yd 4 woods, ever. But I hit a couple today and all the rest went right where I was aiming. I love this club and it is super easy to hit with a smooth easy swing. The head sounds nice too. Thanks Hireko!

Very disappointed with this head as the face anagle is very closed, not square as stated in specs. This could be a good choice if you slice the ball but a poor choice if you are a straight ball hitter or draw the ball.

Tese fairway woods are compact but perform!,Easy to hit off the turf and from the rough, combined with the Powerflex shaft, a club with an appealing look at address and what a performer.

Got the 3+ head and used a true ace green ghost shaft stiff flex,43",tacki mac grip. This club is very accurate and long with a very high trajectory which provides added rollout.No problem getting it out 220 yds+

I've read where some have said they had a poor-looking FW, but mine wasn't. I built mine with a True Ace Cadence Red FW, 43", D-4 sw and white Tacki-Mac Itomic grips. I can get this out there about 230-240 yards. It feels and sounds good.

I've seen the pros and cons..Here's the deal...I have the Insider 14* Thriver and the XK 4,7 and 9.
I put them all on Apollo Spectre Lite steel A flex shafts. I'm getting 210 to 225 with the Thriver and 205 with the 4 wood. The 7 and 9 are automatic and easier to hit than a hybrid!! The heads are top notch! Yes, the faces are closed but with a nice, easy swing they produce a really nice draw and a little extra yardage.If you are in the 15 to 18 to 20 handicap range these are the woods for you. Matched with the new Cabriolet irons and Acer chipper and putter, I am scoring consistantly in the 80's. THANKS HIREKO!!!!!
P.S. PLEASE MAKE A 11,13 and 15 IN THE XK LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Specifications online and in the catalog say the face angle of the 4-wood is square. I can tell you I measured mine at 2.5* closed. I even requested that Hireko hand pick the head for a square or open face angle. So don't be fooled into buying unless you want closed face angles.

I bought the 4 wood head and fitted it with a SK Fiber Tour Trac 80 shaft. This was to replace a 5 wood to supplement my only other wood (driver) as I carry 4 wedges - PW, AW, SW & LW. The club is great and does what I wanted. My only complaint is that the paint finish on the bottom of the head is inaccurate and looks amateurish, badly hand done. However, since I want the results not the aesthetics this is an annoyance rather than a real problem. I guess this will wear off anyway so not a lasting problem.

Was building a new set I have a high flight pattern so I matched the strong 13 degree #3 and the 17 degree #4 to my 9.5 degree TI drive same model with low kick shafts. Flight pattern is tree top tall with perfect 4 degree increments between clubs. All have a closed face angle, right side trouble eliminated.

This is a great fairway wood.Easy to hit

I decided to go with the strong 3+ wood. I'm glad I did the ball explodes off of the club with great distance and accuracy. I was very impressed. I may never take out driver again. Will be adding the 5 wood soon.
