For a long time I was a Winn guy all the way. I do not like waring a glove but had slippery problems in either rain or very hot weather. I found my answer in the Winn line of grips but they were expensive and didn't last very long. About two years ago one of my golfing buddys who enjoyed working with clubs re-gripped my clubs with the Karakal x-tack grips. The cost was considerably lower and the performance was very much the same. They are extremely tacky and the tackiness seems to increase with the moist conditions. Also any of you who are style influenced Karakal has a great diversity of color and styles.

The Karakal X-Tack grips offer great feel, traction, and sharp looks. There is not a better grip at this price point. I found the grips to have an excellent material design; durable polymers/materials without adding unwanted weight or bulk. [...]

I have this grip on a demo iron. It's a good feeling grip, and the lightweight helps increase swing weight while decreasing total weight if that's your preference. This grip has worked fine in the conditions I've played including hot, humid summer days, but I've not used it in the rain. They do claim "The Wetter the Better" on the grip cap, though. These are a much more affordable alternative to Winn grips. It seems these newer grips are definitely superior to an older model Karakal grip I tried once. If nothing else, try one out on a demo club. At Hireko's prices, you can afford to do that.
