I have been making clubs for 20 years. Without question, this shaft is the best I have ever used.
I have always said the shaft is the key ingrediant. Put them in the new Acer XF tour heads. Great distance and very nice loft. The feel is the most impressive. Even hitting range balls, it's like butter!! Will buy another set just for backup.

i have many sets of clubs and regularly tinker around with shafts i usually play premium shafts and have spent alot of money in the past. i purchased the 85's thinking they would play as cheap as they cost...well i've come to the conclusion that i don't know what i am talking about anymore becuase shafts are as good as i have played and as i said before i have spent hunreds reshafting in the past...i don't know if i should laugh or cry!!! i played a full season and all i can say is APOLLO has my business going forward.

I tried this shaft in Regular and found that it played firmer. The low kick point is noticeable. All aroung good shaft.

What I especially like about the Acculite 85 shaft is that it combines the control of a steel shaft and the speed of a graphite shaft, at extremely moderate price. Also very attractive shaft graphics. The 92 gram raw weight is a perfect compromise between too-light graphite and too-heavy standard steel. What's not to like at this price point?

Built a set of Power Play System Q2 irons with the Acculite shafts. They have the feel/weight of a Graphite shafted iron but more accurate. Distance was 5+ yards per club. My main concern was the high kickpoint, but the launch angle was solid and was still able to hit medium trajectory shots. Would recommend these highly

Used these to build a set of Acer XK irons and hybrids for personal use. Could not be more pleased with the performance of these shafts! Great feel with the reduced weight, getting good distance and great accuracy!

Replaced a set of Avatar HL irons built on Apollo Standard Steepless shafts with the Acculite 85s to help my dad get a little more swing speed. The 6 iron shaft bent about a foot up from the head. I don't believe you can be too aggressive with these shafts.

I reshafted a customer's 6 irons and two came back bent at the hosel. Not misuse, just fast swing speeds and this particular golfer took divots every time. Would not suggest these shafts for players who need a stiff flex, but I would use them for any other golfer as they are very light and have an attractive look.

Excellent lightweight shaft that rivals anything produced by competitors. I placed these shafts on a set of XD Pro Irons built for my own personal use and couldn't be more pleased. As a Master Clubmaker and Golf Professional, I will recommend these to all my customers. Only negative is that they could come a couple of inches longer to custom fit us tall guys.
