As a Professional club builder it is good inexpensive steel shaft designed for players getting started and a better player looking for a higher launch and more spin.

These shafts are perfect at the price they are listed. There are better shafts but you wont find them at this price. As long as these shafts are sold at this price, I will continue to buy as many as I need.

I used the stepped shaft in an extra set of irons. Trimmed the shafts between R and S and a final length of 1/2" over. I really like the feel the shafts provide and the ball flight is nice. Looks like a Dynamic Gold, flies like one but not as heavy as one. Will be ordering more in the future.

As a club builder, use a frequency machine to really hone in your flex. I took the advice of a prior review and also found the flex to be stiff. I used the A/L shaft and with a 1/2 tip trim on a 5 iron I received 274 CPM with the grip on. The shaft flight is high and long. This shaft is as good as TTDG without the hight price.

I have been building for a while now and I switched from True Temper Steel to these Apollos. Not only is the price great, but the extra length is great for longer clubs and hybrids. Obviously there are lighter shafts out there, but for the money, I have not found a better shaft.

I built a set of wedges (52, 56, 60) with this shaft, trimming the tip 2 3/4" and leaving the overall length +1" (I'm 6'5"). As the shaft is a bit heavy, it takes a beating when pounding sand and rough. My last wedges had graphite shafts and the new ones provide much more feel. I wouldn't want my longer (or mid) irons to have this shaft, but for wedges and short irons, it plays as well as the more expensive brands.

For golfers on a budget, you're not going to find a more inexpensive shaft. They seem to feel stiffer than their designation, so I would recommend putting your ego aside and getting more flex than you think you need.
