I bought 6 of these Phantom shafts after using one in a 5 iron for a few weeks, I like the light weight and the non stepped shaft.
However 5 of the 6 had bends at 3" from the tip the bends were about 1/8" or a little more. I happened to roll them on the work bench when I noticed them. I was a little shocked when Jeff told me it was acceptable.

my 6 iron swing is 85mph- not excessively fast; the Apollo Phantom shaft (I had it trimmed to stiff flex on a Dynacraft Prophet Tour 6 iron) felt like a senior flex- very whippy. I found the club impossible to control/unplayable.

These shafts were used to replace older Precision Rifle shafts in my irons and in a new build of Caiman hybrids. It is a great looking shaft with better feel and performance than the "rifles" for my age and swing speed. I had a local clubmaker reshaft my irons with them. He weight sorted them and frequency matched them. The tolerances, out of the box, were outstanding (his words). Initially, I wanted them tipped between R & S, but when he put them on his freq machine after tipping them, he told me that tipping to S flex really gave me an R flex -- so we built them to R.

Used in a set of back up clubs as a kind of experiment and was surprised at how well these shafts performed. Have used Apollo shafts before so maybe shouldn't have been since they have all played well.The ones I received were within 1.5 grams of each other with no clearly defined spines. Ended up just installing as they were, then playing. This set is going to be pulled and going in a new set (just ordered)as my primary set.

very nice shaft like project x but no huge price !whis the stiff was a little firmer but for normal swin speed go for it

I started with the new Dynacraft Prophet tour blade PW and 8 iron heads but wasn't convince on which shaft would compliment the completed club. I was presently playing the Prophet CNC forged irons with True Temper TX-90 shafts and felt the stepless shafts gave me positive trajectory control. So, I decided on Apollo Phantom shafts and tipped the flex in-between a REG and a STIFF. The results were superb, I can fire at almost any green and this club/shaft combination will perform as I expect it to. I just completed the entire iron set and now it's time to play golf!

As an aging (66) low handicap teaching pro, who historically played Project X shafts, I was looking for a bit more clubhead speed, at least as great a feel as Rifles/Project X's have, and a relatively flat trajectory ball flight. After checking butt, and mid shaft frequencies, which were all within +/- 3cpm, spining the shafts, and installing, into my Callaway X Forged irons, I love these things!! They are all the above!!

I just tried one of the Phantoms in a test Acer XK Pro 7i and was impressed. the shaft looks really good, has good feel at contact and launches high. The shaft was under 95g after the final cuts so they are much lighter than the TT Black Golds I'm playing now. Once I figure out which set of irons I want to build for myself, I'll be using these, great value for the money.

My previous irons were shafted with Apollo Stepless shafts, and I was very happy with their performance, but felt that their heft wore me out as the round went on. Then Apollo came out with this shaft, so I built a new set of irons with them. Wow. I have been waiting for this shaft for years. They look great, and they feel and perform almost identical to the standard stepless, only they're a lot lighter. Now I feel I can play a complete round of golf and have confidence in my irons all day. Quality control seems ok, too. Weight is very close, shaft-to-shaft, and the spines are not as defined as some other models I've used. Definitely worth a look.

These are the fourth set of shafts I have had in the heads I am currently playing and they are far and away the best. I have never seen a set weight match so well: 8 shafts were all within 2 grams. I have them trimmed to regular flex and they have a sweet feel, without loosing control. Launch is mid, exactly as promised. These shafts are top quality for half the price of big name options. I will be certainly using them in future sets.
