In the past I've been using stock/whatever comes with the head for drivers/woods. I found online a Diamana BB XStiff 73 in a FT3 Tour that works excellent, but have been looking for a shaft to use for early/late in the season when my swing isn't able to fully load the shaft.
After researching New Image shafts, I ordered a Stiff Gold and a X-Stiff Red. The Gold was ok, but I would overload the shaft and would require a XStiff there. I put the XStiff Red in a 9* FT5 Draw and after a few swings, watch out! What a nice feeling setup! It's a little lighter and a touch more flexible than the BB but has very similar playing characteristics. I'm able to take regular swings with good distance as well as "go after" the ball for a little more. (101-104 mph SS, 255-270 yrds off tee) With an Avon Nexus grip and the FT5 colors it also makes it sharp-looking.
Could not be more pleased with the performance, and the price makes this an excellent buy!

I use the Red shaft in my driver in a stiff flex. It's the best shaft I used in a long time and it looks cool.
