Comments about Hireko I286C:Acer XC Wedge - Clubhead:
I recently built an iron set consisting of the XF HT for 5-7, regular XF for 8-PW, and XC for Gw/Sw/Lw. 5-PW used Apollo Shadow Steel and the wedges used Apollo Standard Steel.
The XC is billed as a "Game Improvement Wedge". While there is indeed a small undercut cavity it didn't seem to improve forgiveness over the other more traditional wedges I own. I hit the XC almost identical to my Golfsmith Tour C wedges and my old Classic Tour CG10 knock-offs. These are still great wedges and an excellent value, but I didn't find the "game improvement" design to provide much in terms of added forgiveness. These weren't the revolation for me that the XF and XF HT were but, again, they're still excellent wedges for the money.
Casting quality and hard finish (satin finish, sand-blasting, logo inserts, etc) are all top notch. My only complaint with these (as well as the XF and XF HT) is the paint fill. There are several paint lines that transition directly to chrome without a cast feature to define the transition... I'm not crazy about this technique to begin with, but it's made far worse by uncrisp masked paintlines, build-up at the masking areas, jagges lines, and general poor quality of the masking. I would pass this off as a QC problem if it were just one or two heads, but all of the heads I received had some of these paint problems. This makes me think the paint masking process needs to be refined, not just the QC. The XC isn't as bad as the XF/XF HT in this regard since there are fewer and smaller areas of unassisted transition, but it's still present and worth noting.

I have the 52 degree shafted on the Apollo Stepless shaft and I love it. I play a set of Bridgestone irons, the GC Mids. The GC Mid pitching wedge is very very good, so I searched for a GC Mid gap wedge only to find out one was never made. I noticed that the XC wedge has some of the same design features as the Mids, with a slightly wider sole and extra weight at the heel and toe areas. At about [$] for the head, shaft [...], I thought why not give it a try.I have played this wedge for 4 rounds, plus have hit dozens of chips and pitches around the yard. This wedge is much better than I expected. It gets the ball up really easily. Even chunked or thinly struck shots still get up into the air. It has also worked very well as a sandwedge for me. The rough around the greens this year in Wisconsin is really lush, and this wedge extracts the ball very well from it.The head is a 52 degree, but plays more like a 54 degree, it hits it high. It might hit a bit shorter than most 52 degree wedges. The satin finish is very nice and seems to be holding up very well. Overall this is a winner.

I wanted this wedge to fill the gap between my Pitchig Wedge and my Sand Wedge which it does very well, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it is a good second Sand Wedge , especially for longer bunker shots.

When I pick up one of these wedges, I feel confedent in the shot I'm about to make. I built a 56 and 60 degree and I'm planing to make a 52 to replace the attack wedge in my iron set.

All I can say is wow! What a great product. I was looking for a sand wedge upgrade and on a whim I decieded to get this after reading all the positve reviews. Add me to that list. I put it together with TT lite shaft and could not be happier with the performance. From working around the green, out of the sand and full shots this club works great. Best wedge I have ever played and I played a few of them. I will be getting the 52 & 60.

I don't ever write reviews but Holy Cow, this thing rocks! Built the 56 with a FST Hi-Rev shaft. Took it to the short game area for a little workout and was shocked. Just point and shoot - goes exactly where it's aimed. So easy to hit it feels like I'm cheating. Great to chip with - chipped 3 ball in the hole in-a-row from 3 different locations. My short game is good but I've never done that before.

It's a fine looking wedge - classic from above, visible game improvement below without being gaudy or obnoxious. I wish it came in 50/54/58 to fill out a set of stronger lofted irons!

Well-made and very forgiving. As good as, or better than, other wedges in my golfing arsenal. Lost distance, though, due I believe to combining the head with an Apolla Acculite 75 steel shaft. Plan to replace the shaft with a lighter weight graphite model.

I don't usually review product but those wedges are money. I built the complete set with apollo stepless. those wedges fly high and land soft on the green. On my first round using these, I made a chip in with the lob wedge over a green side bunker (a first for me). Also, the sand wedge worked very well for me on bunker shot. Overall I am more than pleased with my purchase... less than 30$ for a great set of wedges is a steal.

I built the 60 degree on an Apollo Stepless shaft. Very good combination. Good feel and good spin. If you have been considering a 60 wedge this one's a winner.

Bought 52 and 56 and used Apollo stepless iron shafts. Good feel and great spin. I replaced Titleist spin 56 and Cleveland 52 and have not looked back.

This new line of Acer wedges is just what the affordable but ultimately playable component market needs. Replaced my older 52 degree Cleveland. Didn't miss a beat. Same quality of shots, and great feel. You won't be disappointed.

I have the 52 degree and use it both as a lob wedge and in the sand, and it's the best I've ever used. I'm going to add the other 2 to the bag.

I bought the 52 and 60 degree heads and shafted them with the new Acculite steel shafts from Apollo. These make for some really great feeling wedges. I am able to hit these really straight as well as being consistent on distance. Strongly recommended.

Comments about Hireko I286C:Acer XC Wedge - Clubhead:
I purchased all three wedges, about three weeks ago, and have had the opportunity to use them several times. When I do my part, these clubs perform as good, or better, than any others I've used. Control out of the sand is excellent, with the ability to put some spin on the ball. My chipping and pitching has also improved.
