Removing old Ping Kartsen 1's from original shafts   Forum Index -> OEM Discussion Author Message 10/04/2007 05:22:31     Subject: Removing old Ping Kartsen 1's from original shafts anonymous Hi Jeff, I'm having a tough time removing the heads off of the old Ping Kartsen 1's irons. Any tips? I've got 3 off ok but the others will not budge. Also, he wants to put in graphite and I noticed that the hosels are tapered tip. Any suggestions on a low price tapered tip graphite shaft, A/L flex? He doesn't want to spend too much money. The K1's are pretty old. You could try to squirt some 3 in 1 oil or WD-40 at the top of the hosel and hopefully it will penetrate down inside the hosel. Leave it sit over night, wipe off any excess oil then reheat. If that doesn't work, you may need a leverage block to twist the head loose. You won't find inexpensive taper tip graphites. The least expensive (and good quality shaft) is the SK Fiber Tour Performance. We do not stock the A-flex, but we can special order it. You could also re-bore the hosels to parallel.
