So the new XK line of irons has caught my eye. First heard about them from the golf digest hot list column. I've heard good things so far about Hireko, and about these irons. I'm just not sure which set would be best for me. I am a fairly young high handicapper (20+, 23years old) but it is comming down quickly. Been golfing for about a year now. I do stuggle with a hook occasionally. I like the idea of the large head on the regual XK's, but not the larger offset.
Has anyone hit both models to compare the two back to back? Any advice which might be better for me to "grow with"?
Also curious about some shaft reviews. I'm mostly interested in the ligher weight shafts. I've hit a few other brands lightweights before and really liked them. Was wondering how the Apollo lightweights compare.
Thanks for any help.

With the Pro model you nearly get the same amount of forgiveness as the standard model, but without the additional offset to compensate for a push, fade or slice. Even thought you are fairly new to the game and might have a higher handicap now, this is one situation I would recommend the Pro model, unless of which the hook is a result of poor mechanics that a quick lesson might fix.
The one overwhelming lightweight Apollo shaft I hear matching up with at least the former model to the Acer XK Pro was the Hump. This is a very unusual shaft and well suited to players to need the stiffer tip shaft to reduce hooking the ball.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff. I appreciate the help. I may be picking up a 6 iron to demo in the near future.
