Hi All,
I am new here. I have been a clubmaker for just over a year. I was trained by GS's multipe Clubmaker of the Year in Wisconsin and continue to be mentored by him and GS's multipe Clubmaker of the Year from Arizona.
At this point clubmaking is still a paying hobby for me but I have experienced real growth over the last year and will soon be looking at clubmaking as a regular part time job. My goal being to continue building the business toward a full time job and retirement business.
So far GS has gotten 85% of my business, GW about 12% of my business, and Hireko about 3%. That business being small orders placed through the Wisconsin clubmaker I mentioned before, to save on shipping costs. I do see that changing as I have been pleased with the components I've received and pricing from Hireko. I will soon be placing a substantial direct order with Hireko as I will be building a full set set of AcerXP905 woods and irons for a young man and ordering some additional items as well.
Having dealt primarly with two of Hireko's largest competitors for over a year, and spending time on their sites on almost a daily basis, here are the things I would personaly like to see Hireko doing...
1. Lower shipping charges. Hireko's components are well priced but the hit I take on shipping has wiped away the bargins.
2. Faster shipping. I normally receive orders from your competitors in as little as 3 business days after ordering.
3. Complete component descriptions. Every item on the site should list... Loft, Lie, Weight in grams, Volume in cc's, Face height, Face Angle, Bulge, Roll, Hosel inside and outside diameter. Most of this information is lacking in your product descriptions. All of it is lacking on your close-out items. When I call in for it either the operators don't know or it takes them 5 minutes to find out.
4. More Left Handed components. This is an area where you could clobber your competition. Their selection is also meager. I believe Dynacraft used to be a leader is this area. Sadly it seems that is no longer true.
5. Faster site navigation
6. More site search filtering options. GS's site is the best right now. Look at their search options and incorporate them.
7. More Company contact with your clubmakers. At minimum their should be a monthly news letter even if it's only electronic.
8. Promote this forum to your clubmakers. I happened on it by chance and activity seems rather limited. More activity on the Forum will increase interest and also bring in new clubmakers from elsewhere.
This is all IMO and meant constructively. I hope it's taken that way and that my suggestions are taken seriously and better yet, acted upon. If that happens, I believe that Hireko will not only see a huge increase in my business, but also a huge increase in business over-all.
Fairways & Greens,
Tim

P.S.
I would also love to see Trajectory, Forgiveness, and Workability ratings on all your component heads. MOI ratings would be great too.
Fairways & Greens,
Tim
