My buddy has asked me to regrip his Callaway X-18 irons. We are trying to decide if he needs .580 grip size or .600. His stock steel shafts do not have a sticker on them and Callaway's website doesn't say what the shaft butt size is. Has anyone regripped this irons or know what the butt size is? Or will the only true way of finding out is cutting one grip off and measuring?

They are 610 ribbed from the factory but a 600 will work

The .600" will work as well. The difference between the inner cores of the grip amount to a single strip of making tape, so most golfers would never notice.
