I used your fitting guide and ordered an Acer XP 905 7-iron. I had it assembled with an Apollo Spectre Lite shaft (senior flex) and a Karma multi-texture grip.
I wanted to "demo" this iron for a few rounds so I could determine if I wanted to get a set.
After one round and a trip to the range I'm very impressed.
This iron is well-balanced and forgiving with a nice feel/sound at impact. The Spectre Lite shaft seems to be a good match, light-weight and responsive with a medium-high trajectory.
It's an attractive iron that is easy to hit -- and control.
And the build quality is great. Good job, Hireko. I think you've just gained another satisfied customer.
One question: Is the groove pattern on this iron a design feature or does it have a function?

First of all, I am glad to hear that combination worked well for you. The scoreline pattern is strictly cosmetic and serves no special function.

Here's a quick update:
After getting positive results with my Acer XP 905 "demo" 7-iron, I ordered the 5 through pw.
I've been able to play a few rounds with my new irons and they're great. They're MY irons, built to my specs with my choice of grips and shafts. Maybe the best irons I've hit.
For more than 20 years I've been an OEM guy.
These Acers have changed that. Now, I wonder why I didn't do this sooner.
Next step: I'll have to get MY driver.
One Hireko club at a time.
