I know everyone always says you gotta use graphite for ladies clubs, but would it be so bad to use some lighter weight steel shafts -- the 110g Apollo Shadow L/A for example?

With the length of the club, about an inch shorter than ladies' standard, I wonder if an 80-ish gram graphite shaft like the Acer velociteque would be too light and create a very low swingweight.

Aside from swingweight, the cost is a factor. This is a beginner who just wants a couple of test clubs to see if she wants to get into it. Therefore keep investment minimal, even though it may not be *optimal*.

The manufacturers wouldn't still make steel L-flex shafts if there wasn't a market for them. The Apollo Shaft is an excellent choice as it is very lightweight and flexible. In irons, 1/2" shorter will yield the same swingweights as the lighter graphite shaft.
