Hi all - what's the major Difference between 431 and 17-4 steel in a golf head? I mean, I understand the different chemical makeups of steel - but - what difference does it make in a golf head?

In performance - none! If you want a cheap experiment, try one of the Acer XDS Wide Sole irons (17-4) and hit it side-by-side with the Acer XDS Wide Sole II iron (431) with the same shaft, flex, length, etc.

There's so many different materials, and so many marketing ploys, I'm always amazed how many ways there to skin a cat/shred surlyn off a golf ball.
