Hi,
I have a 10 year old son who is tall and strong for his age. He is 5' 1" 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 116 lbs. I wanted to make him some new clubs using the Avatar Jr. Clubs from the clearence area. I think the Apollo Junior Steel Shafts I ordered are going to be too short for the 5 and 7 clubs. I was thinking about switching to a Apollo Ladies Steel Shaft. Would this work out and what should the finished length be?

The junior shafts will be too short. He is about 1/2" under standard ladies length. You could use the L-flex in the Apollo Standard Stepped shaft or if you wanted to go lighter and more flexible, opt for the Shadow A/L. Those heads are lighter than an adult head.

I am getting ready to make my clubs using the Apollo steel in a ladies flex. I will make a 3 wood, and 5,7,8 hybrids from Dynacrafts Avatar Jr. line. I understand that for my son who is 5'2" that the finish length will be 1/2" shorter than a standard women shaft. My question is there any special tip trimming that I might make to make the shaft slightly more flexable?

I don't think I would change the 3-wood trimming since it is the same weight as an adult 3-wood, but with the hybrids, I might take 1/2" less than what it suggest because they are a little lighter.
