I'm playing the Acer XP 905 3 and 4 hybrids and like them so much I'm thinking about adding the 5. I have the old Cadence hybrid shafts in A flex and this works well for control and trajectory. Which new Cadence hybrid shaft should I select, and should I stick with the A flex?
Just curious, why is there a 3-degree difference in loft between the XDS widesole and 905 3 hybrids? Is it because of the larger size of the XDS head, or are the 905s designed for more distance?

Get the new True Ace Cadence Orange hybrid and trim to the R-flex. That should be very, very close to the older Cadence Hybrid A-flex.
The lofts on the lower lofted irons and hybrids generally are 3 degrees different from one to the next. Part of this is caused by stronger lofted PW then 9 irons and so forth. By the time you get to the 3 and 4 irons / hybrids, it is tough to continue to reduce lofts by 4 degree increments and be playable.

Thanks, Jeff.
Quick follow-up question: If I get an SK Fiber Tour Trac 80 shaft in R flex for a Caiman 3-wood head, all I need to do is butt-trim for length, correct?

For the Tour Trac 80, there is some tip trimming for the fairway woods. For the standard Caiman 3 wood, tip trim 1/4" and for the Raw Power version tip trim 3/4".
