Titleist 909 D2 Driver. Please someone I need some advise - help.
I also entered this in Clubmaker2Clubmaker-hope you don't mind ok..
I was set to do a normal shaft replacement. Pulled the shaft and it came out in very good shape. While I was Looking at the head I noticed there was a sticker on the bottom, the sticker was a black circle with an S on the sticker. I felt this was for the STIFF shaft on this driver.
So I pulled the sticker... To my suprise there is a small black spot on the bottom under the sticker. The small black spot looks like a filler hole for a Plug that goes up into the shaft area.
I did not know this driver had a shaft thru bore set up.
I need help for replacing this shaft can anybody give me advise or info on where to look for help... scgolferjoy Thanking you in advance

This particular driver is not a thru bore like the previous 975 and 983K. The black dot you see is where they inject the head with a black tar-like substance for weight and to catch any loose debris.

Thanks Jeff for reply.
I'm into something that is new to me and your answer did help. Let me ask you this: When I put in the new shaft does it stop in the hostel about 1.22 inches ??? There is a place for the new shaft to rest. Or does the new shaft go further into the head ??
There is a small hole that goes all the way to the bottom of the head.
Will I be able to use a ProForce V2 as a replacement shaft or does this type of shaft replacement need a special shaft.????
Do I have to mix my own tar substance or do you sell it..
Do you sell a Pin or something I could use to replace tar???
Thanks for help...

No special shaft is needed or even alterations to the tip trimming. This is standard installation with a .335" shaft. Here is a link: http://www.titleist.com/golfclubs/drivers/909D2.asp
Be sure to look at the thumbnail view of the blind bore. We do not sell the tar-like substance, nor should you need to use any of it. Did the black "dot" come out while you were re-shafting? If so, you may be able to use the tip a thru bore plug for graphite shafts. We don't have them in the catalog, but I think we still have some packages of 25 left (code TBP).

Ok Jeff
Thanks for all of your time and help..
To answer your question .. "Did the black "dot" come out while you were re-shafting?" No it did not come out, I removed it. It semed soft and I was interested in looking to see if the hole went all the way through to the bottom of driver. I wish now I had left it alone. The old hind sight feeling
Should be able to finish reshaft with no other problems, thanks to your advise. First I will clean inside of head reclean hosel. Then I will replace the black dot on bottom with epoxy or the tip of a thru bore plug for graphite shaft. Then install the proforce v2 shaft as new shaft.
I looked at the Titleist link you sent and it was helpful.
looked at your notes on the Shaft trimming and the different bore types, all this helps me feel better about this reshaft.
Thanks Jeff
