I was playing with a set of ping S58's. I liked the feel of the club but I need a little more forgiveness so I bought a set of Callaway X-22's. not the tours just the standard ones. I now hook just about every iron shot. Same specs on both clubs 3 degree upright, plus one inch, standard grip. Am I playing with to much offset??
I work at a golf course so I get to play alot and I am 5 handicap. I have been building, repairing and regriping club here for about 2 years and I usually buy everything from Hireko. unless I need something in a pinch. You guys are in California and I am in Pennsylvaina. Takes a bit for shipping. I have never built myself a set of clubs because I am a 3 degree upright. I dont have a machine to bend them. Another question to you is can you bend the 3 degrees with out completely assembling the clubs?? I have a brand new set of project X shafts here.

It could be the offset, or...
Don't assume that 3 degrees upright in a Ping iron is the same as a 3 degree upright in a Callaway iron. I would have the actually lies measured by someone locally. It wouldn't surprise me that the Ping are not as upright because they factor that in when they make clubs longer.
We can bend our irons 2 degrees upright prior to shipping. The only exception is the Caiman. If time is of concern, we do offer 3 day select shipping which is only nominally higher than the standard ground rate.

Even raw heads need a shaft or steel bar inside the hosel to use to measure the lie in the L/L machine and prevent the hosel from deforming when bent. I'll have to check again if we are offering that service on the components or just to the assembled clubs.

I know that you have to have a shaft in there for measusement purposes. But does it have to be epoxied in place?? I am in the process of trying to find a used Loft/Lie Machine. I am getting lots of Questions about adjusting loft and lie angles.

Chad:
No need to epoxy. Just shove a check that is the appropriate size AND go to the bottom of the bore. You will find what a time saver it is when you are working with the component heads.

Yes, you will need to call in the order as that option is not yet available as part of the online ordering.
