I need a shaft suggestion for a Professional Open 60* wedge.
It is for my 73 y/o Dad who has quick tempo, and could use help getting up out of the bunker. he will also use it from 50 yds in.
I have come up with the Aldila VL....what do you think.

The loft of the wedge is what will help get the ball out of the bunker. However, if he has a quicker tempo, a heavier shaft (maybe even steel) may be in order. Age by itself doesn't give me enough information as shaft fitting is all about strength and tempo. Does he use steel or graphite in his current clubs and what flex is it?

He has graphite in a senior flex in all his clubs.
I know physical stature usually plays no part in the golf swing but he is 5' 7"" and weighs 140 lbs and consequently he is a short hitter who's strength is on the low side.

As long as he hits the ball reasonably straight with his irons and the shafts he is using is similar in weight to the VL, he should be in good shape.
