I recently have come across on opertunity online to purchase some used clubs that have regular flex steel shadow iron shafts in them. I know the shadow is a high trajectory shaft, but I'm worried that the regular flex + high flight might be to much for my swing, but I'm not sure. Because it is online, I have no way of trying them.
I currently have a mid flight using very old and somewhat heavy steel shafts. My driver SS is about 95-99. I normally hit my 7iron right about 150.
Would the reg shadow's be stiff enough for my swing, or would I likely end up ballooning those shafts?

You may be fine. For one, the weight of the shaft should be no different than what you are playing if they are that old. Also, older clubs had weak or higher lofts on them. If the clubs are newer, chance are they will have lower lofts which may neutralize any effect the low kick shaft might have. A 150 yard 7-iron should be about right for R-flex in that shaft unless you has a short, choppy swing.

Thanks for the input Jeff. I'm not sure of the exact age of the clubs I am currently playing. I just know they where my grandfathers. Most likely from late 80's or early 90's. Hopefully this used set will fit well. I've heard great things about Hirko's products.
