Jeff,
Does this have a grey face now and if so, does it extend to the topline. Conflicting pics on the component link now...
Very interested to hear how the production heads will be finished.
The original pics looked all Dark Brown and now it looks Black and Grey.

Thanks for the update, that's fine with me...
One other Q: How well will this finish hold up to bending. I was thinking of de-lofting a SW to 53*. Will the finish hold up or will significant marring occur?

The PVD finish is much more durable than black melonite. I was able to bend some and didn't see any stretch marks where the you could see the bare metal exposed. One word of caution as these are made from 304 stainless and they bend very easily, so use light pressure as not to bend the club too far.

Jeff: Just to ease my mind. The two pictures posted at FGI (both from different areas of the Hireko website), show two distinctly different face colours: one light and the other a lot closer to the PVD finish.
Which is the production colour?
I really hope that it is not the light grey...

Sorry to see this Jeff.
When the original pictures came out, everybody was excited about the all black clubhead. To see this is disappointing. I may still buy them but my enthusiasm has decided waned.
I understand that the durability may have been an issue on the face with the PVD, but why couldn't the colour have been made darker?

I know you are passionate about the black, but believe me it still looks great, IMHO better than before. The picture still doesn't show the true colors - hey I am not a professional photographer - as it looks darker than this.
