Instead of using a cut grip would the scale show incorrect results if the grip was set on top of the shaft and held on with a rubber band when dryfitting a club?
Do the weights of the grip tape and the epoxy cancel each other out when precalculating swingweights using a scale and dry fitting?

You can rubber the grip on. It takes a bit longer to do than just weighing the grip and using the formula to calculate the weight difference. The grip tape will offset the weight of the epoxy (which I hope is minimal) and the ferrule.
