1) What makes the True Ace Death Stick special? Is it comparable to somethign else? In the catalog it mentions that it is a high end shaft - but I don't see anywhere what about it makes it special (or anythign that indicates that it isn't, for that matter) - I just feel like I'm missing a piece of the marketing.
2) The Hump Shaft - Are they pretty consistent from shaft to shaft? do people need inserts in them - or find their performance improved with them? Every once in a while with an apollo shaft i get an outlier in weight by 5 or 6 grams, and although I love the shafts, i sometimes need to buy 11 to get 10.

The Death Stick is made from very high modulus material in order to make the shaft that light, but very stiff and stable. We don't like to compare our products to others on the market so they sell on their own merits and not riding the coattails of any other product.
Some of the lower cost Apollo steel shafts are what are referred to as commercial grade, which means the tolerances aren't as tight as say some of the newer models like the Acculite series and the Phantom. Simply weight sort the Humps from the lightest in the longest iron to the heaviest in the shortest iron and I find that makes for a good set.
