i had an 8 iron with a multicord grip and dynamic gold shaft. I pulled the head and waited on my order to arrive so i could try the cabriolet head also 8 iron. dogone the shaft is too short because the hosel on the cabriolet is much shorter then the other head.

Do you have the matching 7-iron shaft? If so, that may solve the problem.

no i just didn't want to lose the shaft and grip. I will order another shaft for the cabriolet and maybe an xk highloft and then I will have most everything in your line. The online seminar yesterday was great. can't wait to dump my x-22's and get a whole set from hireko. Now the shaft i have left with the grip is 34"3/4. Maybe it will fit another cabriolet iron for the proper lenght. loft does not matter

I am having trouble figuring this out. The head I pulled was from Golfsmith a forged lynx. It is the same length as the XK Pro series 8 iron I bought from you. When I pulled the head and put Cabriolet 8 head on, it is about 1" shorter. The old head has a longer hosel, but maybe the bore is more shallow. Does the Cabriolet have a deeper bore then the XK? It looks like a 9 iron head would fit to 36". I will work this out I was just curious.

It is not always hosel length, but the bottom of bore to ground line measurement (BBGM) as well. Many game improvement irons have shorter hosels and reduced BBGM than models designed for better players as a way to move the CG lower in the head. The XK Pro would have a longer BBGM than the Cabriolet so the club will be longer with the same length shaft.

I ordered another shaft and grip from Hireko. I still want to utilize the shaft I have now by ordering another club head. The shaft with grip is 34 1/2" what loft XK clubhead would fit that without much or any trimming?

Try any of the wedges as you will gain 1" from the bottom of the bore to ground line.

You are correct it would be a wedge.
