When I look at the lack of success by Tiger Woods using a driver and that he still hits the fairways when using a fairway wood or iron off the tee, perhaps he would be better off using the XDS Thriver. He recently changed to a driver with a higher degree of loft and still no consistency with that club, but he does manage to hit the fairway wood in play. So the Thriver at 44" would be a good choice for him (in my humble opinion).

Gary,

I agree one hundred percent, and realistically he could go without driver altogether and score much better than he does. I'd like to see the number of fwy's hit vs. fwy's missed just w/ the driver for the PGA. My guess is he hit three or less fwy's w/ his driver. I'll go out on a limb and say he won't abandon the driver, nor will he mess w/ a thriver, at least admittedly

Chad: I'm sure you are correct about the # of fairways hit with his driver. You're also correct that he would never try something like the Thriver (or any other higher lofted driver). I was watching the TNT broadcast and the golf analyst (not sure who it was) kept saying after Tiger hit the driver, "guess where that one went." Well every one that day went left, however I did see him hit one right (almost in the water) on Sunday. The guy is becoming just like "Tin Cup" on the 18th hole trying to hit the green over the water. He kept saying, "I know I can make that shot" and of course he finally did and made a smooth 13. Now in my book, that's just being a moron (sorry all you Tiger fans out there).
