If I were to assemble your 20 degrees hybrid what would be the standard length?

Since it is a Dynacraft product, the 20 degree hybrid models are a replacement for a #3-iron. So for tip trimming and length it would be the same as a normal 3-iron. For a standard weight steel shaft, then 38.5" would be standard. For graphite, 39.5" would produce a normal swingweight. Of course, make sure the length is appropiate for your height and ability. Remember, hybrids across the golf industry vary depending upon how heavy they are and the tip diameter the manufacturer designed them for.

Jeff,

Is there a formula/guide to determine an appropriate length for hybrids clubs? Seem to remember there was a math formula that used to predict swing weight. Just wondering if the given head weight, shaft weight, and a reference swing weight, working backwards, would it calulate an approximate length?

Roger:

Yes, there is a formula as you will treat the hybrid based on the tip diameter (wood vs. iron shaft) and the weight. Please check out the following lik as this should answer all your questions.

Our trimming guides are also set up on how to treat hybrids.

Jeff,

On the chart in the catalog and in the article you posted it says standard length for a #3 iron should be 39 inches. You mentioned below it should be 38.5 inches. Is there a certain point where 38.5 applies over 39 inches?

Thanks.

Jeff:

For years, 38.5" was standard for steel. We just changed over to 39" to match what the majority of the industry was making their #3-irons. But in all honesty, make sure the length fits the customer more so than making sure the length is the same as a chart.
