I want to get more technical than just putting components together. I can spine align, pull shafts, turn down ferrules but haven't really purchased any high tec stuff . How important are things like weight scales? When I hear all of this swing weight stuff I really wonder who can really tell what the difference is between a C4 and a C8?? I know I can't!! It seems that swing weight might be a thing of the past anyway. I would like to do a small side business but want to put my dollars in the right place. Any suggestions????

Just for clarification a swing weight scale is not hi tec and is a lot less expensive than the equipment needed for MOI. You need to understand swing weighting before you can advance to MOI (moment of inertia). Iwould suggest an investment in The Modern Guide to Golf Clubmaking also the Total Clubfitting in the 21st century both are on page 138 in the Hireko 2007 catalog.
And yes there are people who can tell the difference between C-4 & C-8.
