I am very interested in getting into clubmaking as a hobby. I would love to build some irons for my cousin.
1) What is the best way to get into clubmaking? The nearest classes around me are about 90 minutes away at Golfsmith. Is there anything online that is worth checking out?
2) What is the minimum equipment you should start out with?
Thanks.

The best method is to get a good clubmaking book (we offer one) and get some components and start building - there is no substitute for hands on experience!!! Any class will be helpful and so will any tutorial you may find on-line. You may even want to find a mentor in your local area that might take you undre his or her wing to learn the craft of clubmaking.
Here is a very basic list of tools and supplies below.
Sincerely,
Jeff Summitt

I just acquired a copy of Total Club Fitting in the 21st Century. Looks very good. I can't wait to sit down and read through this.
