Iron shaft taper--smaller than 0.355

Does anyone know if there was an iron shaft taper smaller in diameter than the modern 0.355? The shafts on a set of Wilson "Billy Casper Shotmakers" appear to be smaller than 0.355----I haven't measured yet. Any reshafting suggestions? Thanks---Gary.

Gary:

Those could very well be a .320" taper tip shafts, which are not available anymore. If they are, then you can use a .355" taper tip shaft by going into the hosel about 1 1/4". You will most likely need to step-taper the hosel with a T-size (1 1/4"), U-size (3/4" deep) and a 3/8" bit (3/8" down). Test fit the .355" taper tip shaft as needed.

Jeff Summitt
