Hybrid Shaft Recommendation

I've forgotten how great Jeff is! This forum is awesome.

Looking for a low-cost hybrid shaft. Narrowed it a bit down to the Cadence Hybrid, Cadence 75 and maybe the Apollo Shadow Hybrid.

I would've thought the Cadence 75's lower torque but higher weight and launching would be more suitable for a hybrid than the Cadence Hybrid. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

150 yard 7 iron, medium tempo swing.

Thanks.

Re:Hybrid Shaft Recommendation

The Cadence 75 iron shaft has made for both a great iron and hybrid shaft for the past three years (even when the same shaft was called the ACD LW). The Apollo Shadow is lower launching while the Cadence Hybrid is a firmer feeling shaft. Personal favorite is the Cadence 75...

Jeff Summitt

Re:Hybrid Shaft Recommendation

Thanks, Jeff.

I was leaning toward the Cadence 75. Unfortunately now, the R-flex wood model is sold out. Any recommendation there? Building an Acer 905 XP 5 wood as well.

I see limited quantities in the A flex though. Could I tip it to an R-flex 5 wood shaft, or do you have something else that's similar?

A very good fairway wood shaft in that weight range is the Acer Velociteque (not the Velocity). The Cadence 75 A-flex would be too much different than the R-flex in terms of specs.

Jeff Summitt

Re:Hybrid Shaft Recommendation

I just thought I'd mention that I installed a Cadence Hybrid shaft in a Q2 20* hybrid, and I think it's a great combo. I trimmed it to play between an R and S flex, and it feels just about right to me. I tend to have a steep angle of attack and late release, and my driver swing speed is around 100mph.
