Apollo standard stepless steel shafts

I am about to assemble these shafts but have a few questions? The tip trimming instuctions(AA) on this web site says that on a 3i, i should trim 1 inch off the tip. On apollogolfshaft.com, it says 1.5 inches for a 3i. Which one is right? By the way, this is for stiff flex. My clubs will be 1 inch over standard and i hit a 9 iron around 150 yds. Would you recommend that i trim the 1.5 inches off the 3i or maybe a bit more, adding 1/2 inch as i go up in clubs? Would this make the stiffness of this shaft comparible to the tt dynamic gold?
Thanks,
bigbrew

bigbrew:

If you are trying to come close to the stiffness of the Dynamic Gold S300, cut the extra 1/2" (1.5" on a 3-iron). You should still have enough room to achieve 1" longer without having to add an extender.

Jeff Summitt
