    • I consider to change shafts in my ironclubs from R-flex to A-flex. IMy concern is what is the difference between Pure Energy and VIP shafts in A-flex. Because there is a difference in price. . I hit my 5-iron (27) about 150 yards and I want to have a mid- high trajectory. (high preferably)
    • Gunnar,

The Pure Energy is lighter (about 6g cut weight) and lower torque and the reason why the price is higher. The VIP will be a little more flexible too.

    • I have the #4 and 5 XK draw hybrids shafted with Graffalloy prolaunch blue R. I hit these low all the time and am trying to get the ball back in the air similar to my old snake eyes hybrids with proforce shafts. Will these fit the bill? or the hybrid? or others?

    • Kim,

If you are pulling the ball with the XK Draw hybrids, then that would explain a lower ball flight which could be rectified by a hybrid with no offset (like the Acer XF). The Pure Energy will be a lighter shaft, but won't necessarily hit the ball higher or noticeably higher than the ProLaunch Blue. If I can remember correctly, your old hybrids would have had 0.335" shaft making them more flexible in the tip section.

    • Is the SK fiber pure energy A & L the same torque?
I have been using an A flex and love it!
I don't see any A flexes listed under your current pure energy listings.
    • Jack,

The Pure Energy is being phased out and will be replaced by another model soon. The L-flex has a slightly higher torque than the A-flex. The biggest difference was the L-flex is more flexible.

    • will tip trimming 2" on the L flex create more of a regular flex? if so does that effect the launch angle?
    • Kim,

If you tip trim 2" from the shaft that will increase the frequency by 10 cpm and create more of a senior or A-flex shaft. It is not possibly to create a true R-flex shaft out of the L-flex. If you are looking for a good replacement for the Pure Energy R-flex, then look at the new Tour Trac 55 shaft we just introduced.
