The first company to introduce polymer grips to the industry was Winn Grips in the last 1990s. Since then, other companies have enjoyed success offering these types of grips including SuperStroke and JumboMax. Hireko’s own Karma grip line has offered a few polymer grips for nearly 20 years, and we have recently expanded our offerings with a new series called Softy.
From wrap style to colorful and multi-texture designs, polymer golf grips are best known for their slip resistant and shock absorbing properties. While these are sold as a one-piece slip-on grip, they are constructed from two different components. They start with a soft, tacky synthetic polyurethane outer layer which gives them their exceptional feel. Beneath the surface, there are either a firm rubber or lightweight EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) inner core for stability. The latter are used mostly in jumbo putter grips to keep the overall weight down.
Enjoy the benefits of polymer golf club grips by reducing fatigue while hitting golf balls and appreciate the tackiness in virtually any weather condition.
