Questions on Graphite Design G-Tech Iron Golf Shafts

    • When shopping for graphite shafts for my hybrids, am I looking for shafts designated specifically for hybrids, or can those designated as "irons" and "woods" be used also? Trying to stay at $20 or less, and am looking at the Graphite Design G-Tech. Thanks
    • Rich,

You don't have to use hybrid-specific shafts for hybrids. Just match the tip diameter of the shaft to the head and tip trim based on the weight of the head rather than the number engraved on the sole. Many times, hybrids will weigh less than a corresponding iron number. For example, if a #3 hybrid weighs the same as a 2-iron (236g), then tip trim the shaft as a 2-iron (assuming a 0.370" shaft).

    • What is the difference in the G-Tech shaft and the 73,83,and 93 Graphite Design iron shafts. Also what is the difference in the 73.83,and 93 shaft. is it just the weight or kick point.
      Thank you.
    • Dan,

The G-Tech is more of an entry level or price point shaft in the Graphite Design line. The G-Series irons use better quality materials and the ball flight will be slightly lower than with the G-Tech. The main difference between the 73, 83 and 93 is weight although you might see a minor difference in trajectory in like flexes amongst them.
