How much do I trim the tip of a PowerFlex graphite shaft for a Acer XDS 11 wood?
Question by: Kent Sparland on Jul 6, 2021, 2:24 PM
For R-flex, cut 1.5" off of the tip and for S-flex cut 2.5".

I just bought a set of Hogan irons on Ebay, that have been reshafted with regular flex Powerflex FW 501 shafts, except the pitching wedge which is steel shafted. Have been unable to find this model to reshaft the PW, was looking at the Powerflex black/grey shaft, noticed it is slightly heaver than the 501 model. Please advise what would be a good match to shaft the PW. - Thanks

Double check the hosel diameter of the Hogan irons because Hogan irons will almost always have a 0.355" tapered hosel opening and these are strictly 0.370" parallel tip shafts (like the old FW 501). If they have been re-bored or they were the one model I am aware of that was 0.370 (H40), this shaft could be used but won't be quite as stiff in the tip section. Another option would be the Apollo Shadow graphite (standard version).

Is there any DSFI data on this shaft for irons--even a ballpark estimate? I don't see it listed anywhere in the addendum. Thanks!

Ron,

For the R-flex, the DSFI range is between 69-79. For the A-flex it is 60-69.

What are the torque values for these shafts, in irons and woods, reg/stiff flex?
Question by: Mike on Jul 24, 2023, 7:49 AM
The torque value is higher (10 and 9 degrees respectively) than most graphite shafts you will see from various vendors because there is fiberglass mixed with the graphite.
