The swingweight or balance of a golf club is very important to achieve the optimal results by producing more solidness of contact, consistency, speed and greater distance. A club that is overall too head heavy is difficult to return the club to a square position. In addition, it may encourage a player to release the club too early in the downswing and rob a player of valuable distance.
Shaft counterweights can help solve these problems by shifting the balance point of the club closer to the player's hands. Think of it the same way as a figure skater pulls their arm in toward their body making them spin faster. The counterweight plugs essentially have the same benefit and are great solution for over-length clubs. These are easily inserted into the butt end of the shaft prior to installing the grip. Now you can fine-tune your clubs with our golf club counterweights now available for both steel and graphite shafts.
The counterweights for steel shafts will fit a 0.600” butt end or larger (stem = 0.550"). The counterweights for graphite shafts have a stem that measure 0.470". Please make sure to measure the inside diameter of the shaft you are trying to counterweight.

Product Questions
They are made of steel.
The effects can vary per person, but you might see the ball being pulled more from the target line or lack of head feel where it is hard to know where the club is during the swing.
The stem on the graphite model measures 0.490" compared to the one for steel shaft (0.550"). The inside diameter of a 0.580" steel shaft is @ 0.540". In order to use the graphite model, take 1/2" wide masking tape and wrap it around the stem until you get a snug fit.
It is through trial and error. That is why something like the Tour Lock products are very useful as you have the ability to take them in and out to fine-tune the club.
I like this design which is hidden under the grip.
I tried several Tour Lock Pro weights, and liked 40g for my irons.
Sorry, we do not offer a 40 or 50 gram weight. The next one is 60g which can be found in the putter counterweights.
In respect of counterweighting it will be, but the Secret grip is also heavier than a standard grip. If you subtract the 17g tungsten weight, the standard base grip would be 75g.
Unfortunately none. The walls of the extenders are substantial thicker so the inside diameter is small inhibiting any of the counterweights we sell from fitting.

MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES
Address Correction Fees
Hireko is not responsible for fees charged by Fedex, UPS, Post Office or other shippers in instances where the customer provides Hireko with incorrect ship to or bill to address information (Street, City, State, Zip Code, etc.). Shipper correction fees will be the responsibility of the customer and the customer will therefore be charged for such fees.
These correction fees are applicable on orders generated from the following sources: phone orders, internet, email, regular postal mail, fax, edi, or other electronic means.
WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants this product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year from the original invoice date. The manufacturer agrees, at its option during the warranty period, to repair any defect in material or workmanship or to furnish a repaired or refurbished product of equal value in exchange without charge. The customer is responsible for freight to Hireko to return the defective product. Hireko will return the replacement product (or returned product if not deemed under warranty) at no charge. Claims are subject to verification of the defect or malfunction. Submit clear pictures and proof of purchase confirmed by the original dated sales receipt for us to decide if the product will be covered under warranty prior to shipping your repair back to us for inspection. Products not purchased directly from Hireko or hirekogolf.com must be returned to the original retailer. Warranty claims may take up to 45 days to process from time of receipt.
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Any condition resulting from other than ordinary residential wear or any use for which the product was not intended, such as use in rental or contract trade or commercial use.
- Any condition resulting from incorrect or inadequate maintenance or care.
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, or accidents.
- Product loss or theft
- Any alterations made to the product not specifically intended by the product's design, including cosmetic and structural changes.
- Dissatisfaction due to buyer’s remorse
- Damages incurred during transportation.
- Damages incurred during assembly or maintenance.
- Clubhead dents anywhere except on the face of a club.
- Shafts broken in the middle of the club.
- Custom golf clubs ordered online cannot be returned if they do not fit the golfer; buyer assumes the risk when ordering.
- Chipped paint or scuff marks
- Clubhead cracks not made from clubface contact.
