The Acer XV hybrids feature cup-face construction or where part of the faceplate wraps around and becomes incorporated into the sole, crown and skirt area of the head. This pushes the weld back away from the actual face so the areas around the perimeter could be made thinner creating more face deflection for higher ball speeds to areas other than the center of the face. Even when you miss-hit the ball, the XV with cup-face technology provides you that extra spring-like effect for longer shots. These also feature the same Power Chamber as the matching driver. In addition, these low profile heads coupled with the Gravity Port moved toward the face promotes a higher launch with lower spin. Stock screw is 7 grams and requires 4mm Allen wrench.

Product Questions

Are these hybrids bendable for lie adjustment and, if so, how much?

Thanks!
Question by: Bob on Jul 8, 2015, 9:20 AM
Bob,

We do not offer the service of bending hybrids so I am not certain if they can be bent and to what degree.

Question by: Jeff on Feb 27, 2015, 5:13 PM
Jeff,

Yes there will be additional 2g and 12g weights as the stock weight is 7 grams. You can find the link to the screws if you scroll down below the description and look under related products.

Im looking to fill a gap between my 5 wood and 3 iron...due to the shorter length of the 3 hybrid compared to the 5 wood with basically the same loft shouldnt i hit the hybrid a shorter distance, or would i be better off going with a 4 hybrid
Question by: jonathan on May 28, 2015, 1:55 PM
Jonathan,

You would be best off with a 3 hybrid or 7 wood.

Hello,

Is there an ideal hybrid SW?

I am considering your Acer XV 4 hybrid (21*) with Aerotech 80 (S) to complement my XR16 10.5 head w/ Claymore MX48 (S) and XR16 4metal w Speeder (S).

When frequency matching a hybrid, should it feel like a fairway, iron or in class of its own?

In this hybrid setup, can you tell me its approx. swing weight, launch and spin tendencies, and /or should I consider the UST Recoil ES 760 as another option to complement my irons?
Question by: Aigen1 on Jan 28, 2017, 6:50 PM
Lots of questions here so I'll try to answer in order.

1. There is no "ideal" for everyone as each golfer has different tastes, swing tendencies and plays under course conditions.

2. The Aerotech i70 may be a better complement to the Claymore MX46 but the i80 wouldn't be out of the question.

3. Since this hybrid has a 0.370" tip, I would treat it more like an iron.

4. Impossible to answer your last question.

Do these hybrids have any type of draw/fade bias do they set up square? If they have a bias, can you point me to a model that is neutral?
Question by: Mark on Feb 1, 2016, 10:25 AM
Mark,

The face angle is square. These do have a semi-offset hosel which could be considered neutral depending upon your reference point. For instance the Acer XDS, XF (standard version) and the Synchron Vespa all have full face progression like a fairway wood. Some may say these are "neutral" and others fade biased.

What is the face height of the 3 hybrid?
Question by: John on Feb 29, 2016, 12:01 PM
34mm

Two Question

-What lengths would be recommended for these hybrids?

-Would the Recoil .370 shafts be a good match for these heads. If not what are your recommendations
Question by: Mo Knows on Oct 24, 2016, 8:14 PM
Mo Knows,

Standard men's lengths with graphite shafts would be 40" (#3), 39.5" (#4) and 39" (#5) respectively with the stock 7g screw. If you opt for the optional 12 gram screw you can make the clubs 1/2" shorter and converselt with the optional 2g screw you can make the club 1/2" longer.

As far as shafts, the Recoil 0.370" iron shafts will fit inside our hybrid hosels. Now whether or not the shaft fits you is a different issue since we do not have any information about your swing, what you have used well in the past, etc.
