As launch monitors have become more common in fitting, we have found there is a certain window in which the ball should leave the clubhead. This range is approximately 11° - 14° which is not the loft of the club, but rather the launch angle.

It should be noted that total distance is a function of ball velocity, launch angle and spin rate.  The latter spin rate has been omitted from the formula because it is nearly impossible to predict. However, our suggestion should provide more than an adequate range.  For a definitive loft you should use consult a qualified clubmaker equipped with a launch monitor.
